In our region, organizing various activities related to fishing. You can participate in fishing competitions, taste fish specialties, and learn a lot of innovative advancements in the manufacture of fishing gear.

Finns are by nature fond of competition, and fishing competitions we have a long tradition. There are competition is taking place on ice fishing, fishing float rod, trolling (track), fishing and catching crabs spinning in Finland. Competitions on ice sport fishing attract the most participants, the largest of them draw thousands of anglers.

There are very popular trolling competition and hundreds of them, but the most famous and largest of them - a 24-hour fishing marathon at the oars, "King Salmon Lake Puruvesi" in Kesyalahti. The title "King of the Teno River" will receive the one who catches the largest salmon in the river raging in the Upper Lapland. Why don't we go there to take a part in competitions?!

There are annually 50 fish trade fairs, which offers fish specialties, fresh fish, a variety of canned fish and much more in Finnish. The biggest event - it's herring Fair in Helsinki (250 km) and Turku (180 km) in the fall, and Fishing fair in Tampere (61 km) in spring and autumn.
